Chief Executive Officer - Ernest KEKANA

Ernest is an Airline Pilot qualified on aircraft such as the Boeing 747-400 and 737-800 and other regional and charter aircraft. In addition to flying, Ernest has several years of customer service and management experience in Aviation as well as other service orientated industries. Ernest is highly motivated with a passion for flying not easily surpassed. Having reached his dream of Airline flying, Ernest continues to add to the development and awareness of Aviation in South Africa and Africa after starting K5 Aviation and offering non-scheduled and General Aviation services on the African continent.

Ernest is a dynamic and insightful leader providing motivation and inspiration to his fellow staff member's and aiding them to achieve their best in this challenging and very exciting industry of Aviation.


Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Peter ROBINSON

Peter Robinson is the Chief Operating Officer which incorporates management of maintenance and aircraft performance. Peter has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in the management of technology and reliability engineering, both from Wits University. As with all of the K5 management, Peter is a pilot holds a Private Pilot's License. Peter is currently working towards in Commercial Pilot's License.

Peter has worked for several years as the Maintenance Manager for a regional airliner in South Africa. Peter also has broad experience ensuring that the aircraft configurations are optimized and current and has worked extensively with the South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

In addition to his responsibilities as COO, Peter is the Responsible Manager: Performance and Engineering ensuring the fleet performance is safe and optimized, and that the aircraft are maintained according to international and local standards, ensuring safety and reliability.


Quality Assurance Manager & Safety Officer - Fundi SITHEBE

Fundi is a qualified Private Pilot and Safety Officer who is responsible for the Quality as Quality Assurance Manager and Safety Protocol as laid out by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) within the company.

Our multi-skilled Fundi has a B Admin Degree with a Post Graduate in Management and as QM conducts audits both internally and externally for the company.

Fundi is overseen externally by a former Safety Officer of the South African Air Force and current Safety Officer for the Boeing 747-400 fleet of one the world's leading International Airlines.


Manager: Flight Operations - Castro MAFALE

Castro is a Private Pilot who is shortly to complete is Commercial Licence Training. Castro is a trained and qualified Airline Flight Operations Controller and brings to the table years of regional Airline Jet and Turbo-prop operations experience.

Castro, was in addition, trained as an Operations Inspector and Crash Investigator by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Castro's experience included having worked as a Flight Operations Inspector and for the Occurrence Investigations Department of the CAA as an Aircraft Accident Investigator is currently involved with Safety for scheduled airline carrier in South Africa after having completed a Safety Management Officer course.


Manager: Aircraft - Hugo COMERODEN

Hugo is a qualified Commercial Pilot currently flying our King Air type aircraft. Hugo spends time focusing on contract flying in Africa. As manager responsible for aircraft, Hugo takes on the responsibility of ensuring that all the technical specifications and maintenance documentation are up to date as per the South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) 121 / 135 / 127 regulations. Hugo has an extensive technical background in computers as he is qualified as Software Engineer and worked for one of the top leading international technology companies who are listed on both the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange.

Hugo, in addition, has a management diploma from Stellenboch University in the Cape.
